OK but....
I've never been very good at using a stone, it's always a hit and miss affair, and thought this would help, but found it no better than my best efforts without it, though better than my worst. But I'll definitely be buying another Silky saw... my wife has discovered my one and says she wants it, and that she'll pay for me to get another one... just haven't decided which one yet.

Hi Gerold. I just came across this review. I was never any good at using stones either. But starting with something like a 500 grit and the knife guide, following the user guide, and being a little patient, I now sit in front of the TV and quietly sharpen our knives at home. Just make sure with the guide you place it over the back of the knife and slide the sharp edge away from you. I use both hands and it does take quite a while, but it does bring back the edge nicely. Then if I really want to polish I'll increase the grit, but find the 500 is usually enough for an edge to use at home. Hope that helps a bit, feel free to call us for more info if you want though.
